Bundle Up is ending, Sew Fab is coming!

Only a few hours left to snag your bundle of patterns! The big sale ends tonight at midnight EST and after that all patterns will go back to full retail price... boooo! Read more about it here.

Who doesn't love a great deal? I told you before that we were participating in a few bundles this year, so here is the second one! It is called SEW FAB and I think you will like what you see (those of you who haven't seen it before):

Coming soon (May 5th, 2014), for one week only, nineteen pattern designers will be joining together to combine their best PDF sewing patterns and selling them to you for the incredible price of $29.95! That’s over 80% off of the combined retail value!

The Sew Fab Pattern Sale Spring 2014

The Sew Fab Pattern Sale is the original pattern bundle sale! Grab the bundle when it goes on sale next week and you’ll be all set for the spring and summer seasons! You have to wait until next week to see which patterns are included in this spring’s bundle, but take a look below to see which designers you'll find! I think you will be as excited as I am to see some previous favorites as well as several amazing designers that are new to the Sew Fab Sale.

Greenstyle Creations, Handmade Therapy, MODKID, Everything Your Mama Made, The Scientific Seamstress, Figgy's Patterns, Two Sweets Patterns, Things for Boys, Patchwork Posse, Betz White, LBG Studio, Mouse House Creations, Gingercake, Heidi & Finn, Sumo's Sweet Stuff, Terra's Treasures, Paisley Roots, Molly Blossom Designs, Sewing Mama RaeAnna. Sale sponsored by The Southern Institute.

See you right here, bright and early on Monday morning!
The Year of the BUNDLE!

Who doesn't like shopping in bulk to save a few bucks? That's why discount clubs like Sam's Club and Costco are so popular, right? We just got a membership to Costco this weekend and it was so exciting! The best part for me is when I can get a sampler pack of something, so that I don't end up with 12 of the same thing, but instead I go home with a variety pack of something that we can all enjoy... at discount prices! :)

Well, it appears the same basic idea has been applied to sewing patterns for quite some time but we just never hopped on the bandwagon before. And no, I am not talking about selling/buying wholesale (we have done that since the inception of our company). I am talking about Bundle Clubs... for patterns, as in: you get an awesome deal because you buy a bundle of patterns from established designers and pay below wholesale price when you buy them together! Well, since this is a year of firsts for MODKID, we have decided to participate in not ONE, not TWO, but THREE Sewing Pattern Bundle Clubs and we couldn't be more excited!

Here's a bit more info about the FIRST of THREE Bundle Clubs we will be participating in this year...

Ready for some exciting news?

Welcome to the first installment of Bundle UP! Bundle UP is a collective of your favorite established PDF sewing pattern designers coming together to offer you a sweet deal on both hot new patterns and your favorite closet staples from past releases.

What makes Bundle UP different from other bundle sales?

  • We only feature established designers whose patterns and reputation you already know and trust.
  • We create themed bundles. Our first bundle is Girls, coming next Women's. This way you get more of what you need and none of what you don't.
  • We offer primarily new release patterns and throw in a couple oldies but goodies to round out the bundle.
  • We allow you to Build a Better Bundle. You get to pick and choose which patterns and how many to include in your bundle (minimum of 6 patterns for bundle pricing).
  • The more you buy, the more you save!

Are you ready to see who is in the first Bundle UP sale?

How does it work?

These patterns are already a great bargain, marked down about 50% from their retail prices, but we have an even better deal in store for you. The more you buy, the better deal you score! You must buy at least 6 patterns to get bundle pricing, but the more you add to your cart, the cheaper they get. Here are the details:
  • $4.50 each for 6 ($27 total)
  • $4.25 each for 8 ($34 total)
  • $4.00 each for 10 or more ($40- $44 total)

Are you ready for a SNEAK PEEK?

The sale goes live this Saturday April 26th and ends on May 2nd, 2014.

We are delighted to announce our newest PDF sewing pattern, the CECE Lap Neck Dress and Top. We are madly in love with this design and so are all of our testers. Just take a look at what our tester, Jenny Fish (Sew Pretty Dresses), had to say about it. :)

Our Cece sewing pattern features a bias-bound lapped neckline, gathered stripwork skirt and an oversized bow belt for that extra WOW factor! It can be made as a dress or a top with three different sleeve lengths and styles. The detachable bow belt cinches the empire waist and adds a touch of whimsy. Includes instructions for making it with a stripwork or solid skirt. BONUS: Bias Tape making instructions included!!

You can find CECE here:

Check out some of our Tester photos:

Cece comes with soooo many views! Check out all the ways you can make it!

And if you make them with a solid instead of a stripwork skirt, you can get 6 more versions out of this pattern! Jenny Fish sewed up View E with a solid skirt and check out how adorable it turned out!

More Back-to-School Goodies!

We are honored to be featured in two current industry publications with some more back-to-school goodies. Whether you're starting kindergarten or going off to college, we have something fun, hip and chic for you to carry your "goodies" in! :)

First off, we designed these adorable Lunch Totes that look like mini briefcases, for the Spring 2013 issue of Modern Quilts Unlimited. This issue is in stores NOW, so run out and get your copy. Our Lunch Tote pattern is located in pages 26-30.

We made our totes with Textured Basics on the outside and lined them with our Lush laminated cottons, so they would be water resistant and easy to wipe clean.

Here's what the magazine cover looks like, so you can easily find it at the store! :)

Secondly, the latest installment of SCRAP LAB, in the Fall/Winter issue of Quilts and More, features this super fun laptop bag designed by our very own Emalee Grambo of MODKID Studio! Fellow designers, Carrie Nelson and Rachel Griffith, also designed some fun bags for this Bag Extravaganza issue, so be sure to check them out too!

For this challenge, we all used a selection of fabrics from the Road15 collection by Sweetwater for Moda Fabrics. Here is the magazine cover... lots of awesome Fall/Halloween projects in this one. :)
