MODKID needs your help

I'm not the type of person to ask for help. I never have been, which is why this is probably the hardest post I've ever had to write. You may be familiar with Mission: Small Business, but if you're not, it is a program sponsored by Chase and LivingSocial, that will award up to 12 small businesses, like MODKID, with $250k to help propel them to the next level. Now, I've known about this for quite some time and pledged to support so many of my friends' businesses, but never really considered entering because, well, truthfully... I never win anything. I am serious about this. I never do. I've always had to work my butt off for everything I have. So it just felt like a waste of time... an unattainable dream.  However, recent nudges from certain family members (you know who you are) have caused me to reconsider my choice and I have decided to apply for this said grant. Because... wouldn't it be AWESOME if this was the one time I won something?!?

Now, here's the catch: because I dragged my butt for so long, I only have 3 days to earn the 250 votes to be considered for this grant. To be clear: I am not getting the grant if I get 250 votes, I will just be put into the running, along with probably millions of other businesses like mine, to be entered to win. So... chances are super slim, but, you can't win if you don't try, right?

This is where you guys come in. I really, really, really need your help (boy, that hurts to say). I need your votes! Last time I checked I only had 37 votes, so I need like hmmm, 213 more votes! OUCH! (and yes, I had to pull out my calculator for that one... it's been a looooong day!)

This morning I had to fill out a long form telling these folks at Chase and Living Social what my business was all about and how $250k could help us. I wrote honestly and truthfully and then I proofread it about 27 times before hitting that SUBMIT button. Then I realized you guys don't even get to see all that stuff I wrote! I was a bit disappointed at first, but then I thought, if this actually happens, you guys are going to be floored...it's gonna be so awesome! So I'll just keep it a surprise for now. :)

OK, so... if you've missed all my links above, here's one more: go to Mission: Small Business, log in, then type MODKID in the search box near the bottom of the following screen. You will see us there and you can pledge your vote. Now remember, the voting period ends on June 30th, so that's just 3 days from now! Crossing my fingers we get those 250 votes! Please share with all your friends if you can.

Thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart.

  1. I just voted, Patty. You don't have to ask twice. I've been following your journey since the very beginning and I know how hard-working and dedicated you are. You truly deserve this and I will be crossing my fingers for you and MODKID.

  4. I voted, too, and I sure hope you're successful because you're my favorite pattern designer & fabric as well! I never win anything either! I used to try to win give-aways on blogs, but I don't even try any more! Except for yours, of course, but I never win those either (lol)!

  10. Is there a way to vote without facebook? I'd be happy to do just about anything but join fb again.

    1. MJ, I'm glad you asked this because I was under the impression you could either "LOG IN" or "LOG IN with FaceBook", but is that not the case? I can't check it on my own because I am already on FB, but what happens when you click the LOG IN button? Do you have to go through FB or can you just log in without an FB account? It seems silly if so, but they must have a reason.
