Life in plastic, it's fantastic!
We loaded our brood in the car and drove East yesterday to meet up with Paula and her lovely brood in Indianapolis for a day full of Barbie fun at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. Yes, I know there are other exhibits there but we spent pretty much 90% of our time in the Barbie area... are you surprised?
Paula and I were immediately drawn to this wall of inspiration. Cool, eh?
The kids had so much fun playing pretend in all the Barbie exhibits...
Taking phone calls...
Modeling... (that's Jennifer and her son Wyatt in the back taking pictures of supermodels Amelia and Sydney!)
Being paparazzi...
Draping... (a la Project Runway)
Hmmm.. that's not half bad, eh?
Posing...
Running... (This was our view most of the day since Sydney and Amelia became BFFs instantly. After all, they are both "five and a half," as they would have you know.)
Ridin'...
And crusin'... (possibly one of my fave pictures EVER! Check out how comfortable Wyatt is with "the girls", haha)
It was a BLAST and Sydney's already asking when she can go see her BFF again. :)
Yay, you're in MY neck of the woods! Do we have a great Children's Museum, or what?
ReplyDeleteOhhh, that looks like so much fun. I need to get over there with my kiddos.

P.S. I love living vicariously through your adventures. :)
I live in the suburbs of chicago as well...but am from Indy. We went there in May. Love love the barbie exhibit! I think I loved it more than my little one.:)
ReplyDeleteI big fluffy pink heart Barbie! I wanna be her when I grow up!
ReplyDeleteOh my girls would love that! My 3 year old runs around singing that song! "I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world!"
ReplyDeleteToo much fun! I love Sydney's little sundress! Is it the isabel pattern?
ReplyDeleteHi all! Thanks so much for the comments. Yes, this was such a great outing.
ReplyDeleteKathleen, yes that was an early prototype for the Isabel dress. I ended up changing the straps so that they would tie at the shoulder instead of by using metal clips. (just less hardware to buy) ;)

Also from Indy area. We love our museum. Great stuff for any age. My girls have been so inspired by that Barbie exhibit. Lots of barbie business here lately.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. Thanks for sharing. Every girl loves Barbie!!!
ReplyDeleteWe've been planning on taking a trip down to the museum. I want to see the Barbie stuff so bad...doubt my boys will be real into it though. They LOVED the Lego one they had!
ReplyDeleteOh wow that looks soooo fun! My girls would love that. Well, I would totally love it too! I love all your pictures because I can see every detail. FUN!
ReplyDelete"I gotta go" my words to my hubby after seeing your Barbie pics! I love the Indy Children's museum AND a Barbie exhibit is a definite must see - I LOVE all your stuff! I didn't think I would be "making" vaca plans after reading your blog - usually I'm inspired to "make" something with fabric! ~ Thanks the exhibit was awesome, my girls and I spent over 3 hours in it!
