WWC's 12 Days of Christmas
I am thrilled and honored to have been asked again to participate in Where Women Create's 12 Days of Christmas. Last year was tons of fun and this year it's all about Holiday traditions. I would love for you to pop in there and read mine. In addition I would love for you to leave a comment and let me know what YOUR Holiday tradition is. As a mom of a young family I am constantly looking for ideas to make our Holiday season extra special.
Check out the prize that I've donated to be given away to one lucky WWC reader:
It's five 1-yard cuts of Sanctuary (my newest fabric line for Michael Miller Fabrics) and 5 assorted MODKID sewing patterns. (Retail Value: $110) Leave a comment on the WWC blog to be entered to win this and several other prizes donated by the wonderful women featured these 12 days...
Good luck, everyone!
Oh wow! What an incredible prize offering!!!
ReplyDeletePatty, you never cease to amaze! This is an awesome giveaway and I just popped over there to read your tradition... so fun! Love hearing what they do in other countries. :)

Patty, I can't make tamales either but I can surely eat my share, yum yum. Absolutely love your Sanctuary fabric. My favorite tradition is reading the Christmas story with my family each Christmas Eve.
ReplyDeleteI'm not completely sure I've ever had a tamale, let alone made one.
ReplyDeleteWe have two traditions that happen without fail every year:
the kids get to open one present on Christmas Eve and it's always snuggly new PJ's to wear that night
and
we make decorate gingerbread houses together every year - this year we bought a kit that's 5 little houses instead of one bigger oe.
Our family tradition began when my husband and I got married. Every year since our first year married we give each other an ornament in our stocking. This continued with each of our three children so every year each of us gets a new ornament for the tree. We try to sum up the year in an ornament or special event like when we bought our first house, Seth bought me the most beautiful blown glass house ornament.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the comments.
ReplyDeleteDusty, we open 1 gift on X-Mas eve too! haha It's always so hard to wait when you see them all so pretty under the tree. I never thought about doing the PJ's though... gret idea!
LynnEBelle, I've been letting my girls buy a new ornament every Christmas for the tree. Which reminds me, we need to go do that this weekend. Your blown glass house ornament sounds divine! :)
Happy Holidays, everyone!

My holiday tradition is to head to the farmers market and find the most pitiful Charlie Brown Christmas tree I can! I love the little live trees with the fat bottoms!
ReplyDeleteLove the new fabrics! And getting ready to cut out a Penny dress this am. Loved reading about your tradition. I am inspired to come up with a holiday tradition of my own for my family.

One family tradition that I enjoy is that my mum makes a Christmas ornament for us each year. It is handmade and she puts the date on it. I enjoy putting up the tree and see all the different decorations that she's created over the years. My family and I are living are Aussies living in Montreal, Canada, in the snow at the moment and I miss my family back in Australia during these holiday times. As well as the sun and the beach!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! One day I might win something... Such a pretty picture of you!
ReplyDeletewhat stunning fabric!!! our chanuka tradition is opening a different present every night... and lighting the kid-made menorahs....
ReplyDeleteTHis giveaway is so generous, thank you. I loved your memory. I love tamales, so I'm sure I would love December in Costa Rica! Looking forward to a possible 10th anniversary trip to Costa Rica in June...fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is opening gifts on Christmas Eve, we have always stayed up until midnight and we all open our gifts. I also make an ornament with each of the kids and this year I want to make them a felt Nativity scene so we can tell them about the birth of Jesus and they can play with it.
I don't know how to make tamales but I do work the assembly lines at each of the nanas' houses in hopes that watching them make them will engrave the recipe in my mind. They make hundreds too because Mexicans have giant families lol.
Would love to win, thank you!

Love your fabric. Thanks for the wonderful gift offering.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays.
I loved reading about your holiday traditions. Such a lovely image.
ReplyDeleteWe always make home made cinnamon rolls the night before Christmas and let them rise until morning. They are like the Cinnabon kind...yum! We also make a birthday cake for Baby Jesus, perhaps this year we will do the Tres Leche...haven't had that in a while. I love Christmas:)
ReplyDeleteI made tamales once! It is tons of work. My girls and I started a new tradition this year of making an advent calendar on Dec 1st. Your fabrics are so cute!
ReplyDeleteOur family tradition is when making the Christmas Pudding on Dec 1st, everyone has a stir and makes a wish.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is from my childhood. To this day my parents have a friend that dresses up as santa and sneaks and brings in all of our presents while we hide behind the sofa at about 4:30 am on Christmas morning. Best tradition!
