Sew Mama Sew

Word on the street is that my knits are beginning to ship all over the US and some shops even have them in stock already! WOOHOO! So, this couldn't be more perfect timing. Check out this easy tutorial for these sweet and comfy yoga skirts I wrote for SEW MAMA SEW.

MODKID YOGA SKIRTS

You can make these in any size from toddler to adult. Sophie, Sydney and I practically live in these skirts! I've made them in just about every color combo and I've even made some with quilting cottons and knit waistbands (yes, you can do that too! See my "Variation" at the end of the tutorial.)

So... go, go, go... sew up some skirts! And if you do, don't forget to add some photos to my Flickr groups.

  2. Can you pls tell me and several of my friends, an online place in Canada to get your knits?
The shipping costs from the US can get pricey for the amount of knits we want of your material... and we cannot find a distributor here that carries more than just the stripes. We want it all=))
    thanks for your time.

  7. Thank you all for the great comments and features on your blogs!

Jackie, there is a Canadian distributor that ordered every SKU of our knits! The Michael Miller International Rep will be contacting you shortly with their info. :)

Kim D., I am sure there must be someone in Phoenix that has ordered the knits. I'll do some digging around and see what I can find. Otherwise, I suggest ordering online off our amazing online retailers. Full list is at the bottom of this page: http://modkidboutique.com/textiles.html

  9. if you don't have a serger, do you attach the skirt to the waistband via zigzag stitches? thanks for the tutorial!

  10. willemijn... thank you so much for visiting! Glad to hear Playdate will make it all the way across the sea! :)

Grace... you don't need a serger. You can certainly sew up all the seams with a narrow zig-zag stitch on your sewing machine. Just make sure you use ballpoint needles so you don't poke holes into your knit fabrics and if you have any woolly nylon on hand, use that in the bobbin for maximum elasticity. :)
