Playful Designs Blog Tour // Modkid

Welcome to the Playful Designs coloring book blog tour! In case you've missed the excitement, Fun Stitch Studio, a division of C&T Publishing recently released a gorgeous coloring book based on some of my most popular fabric designs, and there are even some designs on there that were never produced as fabric! You can read more about the process in my feature at the C&T blog last week.

Designing this book was such a fun process for me! And I am thrilled to be able to finally share it with all of you and your kids. In addition to 19 ready-to-color pages, this book also includes a tear-away bookmark plus lessons on color theory, color mixing and fabric design!  Below is a little preview of some of the pages included in Playful Designs.

For this blog tour, I've asked some of my favorite bloggers to share a copy of my book with their kids and show me their favorite colored pages. Of course, I had to partake in the fun, since my kids have been such an integral part of this process!

Sydney, age 10, chose this page to color and she says, "I picked this one because I love animals and I was sad when this design didn't get made into fabric. But now I get to play with it anyway!"

Sydney is referring to Arctic Circle, a design featuring animals generally found in that über-chilly part of the world, like whales, dolphins, wolves, elk, polar bears and so many more. This design was originally created for my Heaven & Helsinki fabric line but was cut from the collection early on. I was thrilled to be able to breathe new life into it in this coloring book.

Sophie, almost 13, chose the Aromatherapy design from my Sanctuary collection of fabrics. She says, "I like coloring flowers because I can get creative with new techniques I have learned in art class, like Ombre shades." Sophie is taking her time coloring this page because she is quite the perfectionist. So, here we are seeing about half of her work-of-art-in-progress.

The Playful Designs coloring book can be found on our website here. I would be happy to autograph it and even write a personalized message for a special someone. Just let me know the name and details in the notes, when you check out.

Or, you can try your luck for a chance to win your own copy by entering the Rafflecopter giveaway below...

  10. Hard call, but after I look through it myself I'm sure I would gift it to my 13 year old daughter who loves to colour detailed designs like these. Great idea, Patty!
