From time to time we will have guest bloggers here on the MODKID blog to tell you about exciting things they are doing with our products. Today, please welcome Danielle Storm of Whimsical Fabric!

Hello everyone.  My name is Danielle Storm, and I own an online fabric shoppe called Whimsical Fabric.  I’m excited to tell you about a sew-along that we have going on right now over on our sew-along blog.  We just started a four lesson series on the Modkid Naomi dress.  This series was written for us by the very talented Sarah Unthank.

LUSH Ribbon... and a few more sneaks!

First off... BIG CONGRATS to Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom for being the randomly-selected winner of our LUSH contest. Please email Emalee at egrambo@modkidboutique.com with your address so we can get your prize to you.

I'm heading to Houston tomorrow morning but before I leave I wanted to share the last LUSH-related surprise. Yes, folks, we will have ribbon too!!! This is literally fresh off the press... we got the samples in, rolled them up, took a picture and sent them off. We don't even have them up on our site yet so don't bother looking, but we promise to have them up soon.

There are 6 luscious designs to mix and match with your Lush fabrics...



The two designs on the far left are 1.5" wide and the other four designs are 7/8" wide.



The two on the far right are reversible.



Just like our Grand Bazaar ribbons, these are 100% polyester jacquard.

Emalee quickly whipped up a Megan purse to showcase the fabrics and ribbons. Yes, she is freaky fast like that!



How awesome is this?!?





She also made a Naomi and a Mini-Naomi for my booth, which will be coming in my suitcase with me (the garments, not the models, sadly).



Cuteness all around!!

Introducing.... NAOMI!



Naomi is the quintessential “beach dress”... casual, lightweight, comfortable and oh, so adorable! It features “shabby chic” raw-edge braided straps, a sweet ruffled hem, a cute little patch pocket with ruffled edges and a soft and comfy shirred back. Perfect for a seaside wedding, a family picnic or a casual trip to the farmer’s market, Naomi can be made in dress length or shirt length to suit your child’s needs. Mix and match your favorite fabric prints for a whimsical look.

Naomi comes in sizes 2T - 10 (girls) and is designed to be sewn with woven fabrics 44"/45" wide, like quilting weight cottons, shirtings, voiles, gauzes, lawns, linens and muslins.



You may remember my Hilton Head photos from a couple weeks back... the girls had such a fun time playing at the beach!

Sydney sported the dress version in size 6...



And Sophie wore the shirt version of NAOMI in size 10.


The raw-edge braided straps give this dress that sweet "shabby chic" look. Before we had a name for it, we all called it the "Sun Goddess" dress! haha
