Kimberly Maxi Dress
MODKID's Newest Downloadable PDF Pattern

Embrace the warm Summer months with our Kimberly Maxi Dress for girls and tweens. As easy to sew as it is to wear, this fabulous dress is the perfect canvas for those bold and colorful fabrics you've been waiting to use. Although Kimberly is a full-length dress, you can easily make it shorter by omitting the bottom skirt panel. Any way you make it, this will be a head turner at her next pool party, Caribbean cruise or beach wedding.

This pattern comes in sizes 4T (toddler) to 12 (tween girls).
  Find this pattern here:

NOTE: This is a downloadable PDF pattern, NOT A PAPER PATTERN. After download, your pattern can be opened with Acrobat Reader and will print on standard letter-size paper (8.5" x 11").

Now, how about some inspiration photos?

Sydney (right) is wearing Diamonds Multi from Patty's Textured Basics fabric collection and Cotton Couture solids by Michael Miller Fabrics.

The following two photos are courtesy of our awesome pattern tester, Andrea Thomas-Lambe, and her amazing photographer, April Atkinson of M.A.S. Photography. Stay tuned for another e-Pattern coming next week.
New PDF Pattern: Lily Skirt

Here by popular demand is this adorable skirt pattern that originally appeared in AUSTRALIAN HOMESPUN Vol. 13 No.10. Since the magazine was not readily available in the US (or elsewhere in the world), we had countless requests from fans to turn this design into a downloadble PDF pattern. Per our contract with Homespun, we had to wait 2 months after publication date, but now the wait is finally over and here it is!

LILY COVER

Lily is an adorable skirt design with cascading layers and mini-ruffles galore, to make every little girl twirl in delight. Sized 2T to 10, this skirt even includes a fabric bow that can be made removable for easy washing.

It is available for immediate download at the following sites:

Craftsy
Fat Quarter Shop
You Can Make This (may take a bit longer to show up here)
The Fabric Fairy

The pattern is $8.99 regardless of where you puchase it from and you can even purchase a full fabric & notions kit to make this skirt in any size up to a girls 10 here.

This kit includes:
Lily-photos-flat-shot

• 1/3 yard of Twirling Blossoms
• 1/2 yard of Sculpted Garden
• 1/2 yard of Running Stitch
• 21" of 3/4"-wide elastic
• One metal pin back for removable bow

per kit (does not include the pattern)
Purchase kit here.
Katie Skirt Downloadable PDF Pattern

I guess we can say we are addicted to these PDF patterns now. heehee. This is our third one since I returned from Quilt Market in November. However, it's our first garment pattern in downloadable format, so we're pretty excited about this!

KATIE COVER

Our Katie Skirt Downloadable PDF pattern is now available through Craftsy, You Can Make This and Fat Quarter Shop and it is $9.95 no matter where you purchase it from (choose your favorite site!). A little bit about this pattern:

Katie is a super full, twirly skirt with a flirty flounce and adorable circle pockets for girls sizes 2T to 10. An elasticized waistband means it is just as easy to sew as it is to wear. Even the youngest of girls can easily pull on and take off this sweet skirt. What a wonderful addition to her boutique wardrobe!

This pattern comes as a 39-page downloadable PDF document. You won't need to print all pages... choose the size skirt you are making and print only those pages (a page guide is located on page 2). Print it at 100% (no scaling) right to your desktop printer. No need to enlarge the pattern... it has been tiled so all you have to do is print, cut, tape and sew! Step-by-step sewing instructions, detailed diagrams and tons of photos are also included in true MODKID fashion.

How about some inspiration images??

One of my pattern testers, the amazing Bridgett Wright, made this version out of Heaven & Helsinki. Isn't her daughter adorable? I love this picture so much!

Here is my birthday girl (yes, it's Sophie's 11th birthday today!!) sporting a more tween-sized version of the skirt. This is the size 10, but luckily she can still wear it... with some leggings and boots, of course.

And finally, a couple of super fun pictures I captured of my girl, Sydney, in her new favorite twirly skirt...

A winner and new products from MODKID

Hello, all! First off I want to thank you all for entering our GenerationQ Magazine giveaway. Your comments were all lovely, as usual, but we had to choose one winner, so we used the random number generator and this time... it's lucky number FIVE!!

Love this magazine! I have the first 2 issues and plan to buy this one when I find it online. Seems none of the few quilt shops in Hawaii carry it! It would be cool to win a copy. Thanks for the chance

Congrats, Diane! Looks like we'll be sending this mag to sunny Hawaii (wish I could come with!!) Please email your mailing address to Emalee at egrambo@modkidboutique.com and she will get your magazine to you right away.

So... on to exciting new projects! At Quilt Market, I had an extensive conversation with the amazing Carla Crim (a.k.a. The Scientific Seamstress) and although I had [several times] claimed that we don't do PDF patterns, by the end of our meal, she had me convinced that this was the thing to do (that tricky girl!). This led to a conversation with Kim of YouCanMakeThis.com and now we are excited to announce our first PDF pattern!

May I present to you... MODKID MOD OWL STUFFIE! We made a few of these last year as Christmas presents to my girls, nieces and friends. They were such a hit that we decided to test it out as our first PDF pattern.

MOD OWL COVER

This adorable Owl pattern is available now as a download at:
The pattern is $7.95 no matter where you purchase it from (choose your favorite site!) and it comes as an 8-page downloadable PDF document. Print it at 100% (no scaling) right to your desktop printer. Not need to enlarge the pattern... it has been tiled so all you have to do is print, cut, tape and sew! Step-by-step sewing instructions, detailed diagrams and tons of photos are also included in true MODKID fashion.

In addition to the PDF patterns (yes, that is plural because we have some more in the works!), we also have some new offerings in the Silhouette Online Store. Check out these adorable shapes you can download and use for cards, scrapbooking, party invitations, gift tags and so much more!

And this is not all. I have some amazing projects to share with you in the coming weeks. So, please check back here often to see all the fun little goodies we have been working on at the MODKID studio!

Happy Holidays, friends!
I've been jolly jabbering...

My interview is finally up at The Fat Quarter Shop's Jolly Jabber. After you read, hop on over to their shop and grab one of their Jolly Packs or Fat Quarter Bundles. I just love their presentation!

And, while I have your attention, the list of online stores offering Andalucia is growing in leaps and bounds. I will try to keep my sidebar list updated daily, but here is the list so far:

Fat Quarter Shop
Hancocks of Paducah
J. Caroline Creative
Allegro Fabrics
Fabric Supplies
The Fab Store
Cloth Keepers
Hip Fabric
The Quilted Castle
Lanie Jane Fabric
Tennessee Quilts

And you can find Andalucia coordinating ribbons at:

J. Caroline Creative
Fabric Hound
Banberry Place

Thanks, everyone for your support! You have no idea how my heart sings every time I see Andalucia out there, whether it's the fabric for sale or a beautiful handmade item. And speaking of handmade items, I have seen some absolute beauties out there and am compiling a list on my Wishpot account. Check out what I have found so far!

Do you wishpot? I just started a couple of days ago and I'm totally hooked! You can create wishlists for you and your family members (makes Christmas shopping a million times easier) and you can recommend gifts (like indie items, etc.) to other people. You need to check it out!
Right after signing up I was invited to become an indie advisor , so I am excited to get started!
