Now that we have the prep work out of the way, it is time to sew!! Note: all seam allowances are 1/2" unless noted otherwise.
Place an interfaced button tab and a non-interfaced button tab right sides together. Sew along the long sides and the point leaving the short end open for turning. Trim your seam allowances especially at the point. Repeat for the other button tab pieces.
Turn the button tabs right side out and press well. Topstitch around the sewn edges. Create a 3/4" buttonhole where marked on each tab.
If sewing view B, place an interfaced collar piece right sides together with a non-interfaced collar piece. You may find it helpful to draw in your seam allowance line 1/2" from the edges of the collar as shown.
Stitch along the long curved edge, the short curved edge, and up to the corner. Trim the seam allowances especially at the points. Repeat for both sides of the collar.
Turn both collar pieces right side out and press well. Topstitch around the sewn edges.
Place two tie pieces right sides together. Sew along the two long edges and down the diagonal short edge. Keep the short, straight edge open for turning. Trim the seam allowances at the points. Repeat for the remaining two ties.
Turn the ties right side out and press well. Topstitch along the sewn edges.
Pin a button tab right sides together with a tie and baste along the short end. The horizontal length of the tie should be on the bottom and the diagonal along the top. Repeat for the other tab and tie making sure the ties will face reverse directions, but the horizontal length remains at the bottom.
For view B, place the collar pieces on the right side of the front bodice right sides up. Align the raw edges and baste in place. The short vertical sides should meet in the middle.
Tomorrow we will begin assembling the bodice.
