Easter is right around the corner, and if you're like me, you've waited till the last possible minute to make your kids adorable outfits or that very special handmade gift from the Easter Bunny. But, don't fret! Each and every one of these patterns can be made in one easy afternoon, so you'll have plenty of time to enjoy your family on that special day.

Does your Easter Bunny prefer to bring handmade gifts instead of store-bought toys or candy? Our Travel Art Folio is the perfect Easter gift for creative kids of all ages!

If your girl is more into jewelry and make up instead of art, she will be thrilled with our Jewelry Roll. BONUS: It can double as a school supply, art supply or sewing supply kit and at $4.99 you really cannot find a better value!

Would the Easter Bunny bring an Mod Owl as a gift? Sure! Why not? And what kid wouldn't love and adorable owl with a little pocket that holds an extra surprise? This pattern is only $4.99 and can be made with just small fabric scraps!

Now, for the Easter ensembles... how about something for the boys? The Keagan Shirt pattern comes with 4 different styles of shirts and would be perfect to match with daddy's tie or sister's dress.

And speaking of ties, nothing's faster to make than our Dapper pattern... which comes with bow ties and suspenders in both adult and child sizes... matching sets!!! Now available in PDF pattern format for only $2.99!

And of course, for the girls, here are a few of my personal favorite Easter dresses...

Introducing Charlotte

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

When you combine a look that is both vintage and modern, you get something timeless. Which is exactly what I think Patty has done with her latest pattern, the Charlotte.

Here is the pattern description:

"Charlotte is the perfect Holiday dress for all seasons and climates! Make it with flutter sleeves or short, cuffed sleeves for warmer climates, or make a long, bubble sleeved version for the colder climates. This pattern even comes with a double-breasted jacket version to wear over jeans, a pretty skirt or a simpler dress."

The pattern comes in sizes 2T to 12. From the wonderful tester photos, you can see the dress style is all about what you make of it! For the first 24hrs of the the release, you can purchase the Charlotte pattern from the Etsy shop for $5.99!

Monday, July 14, 2014

Are you ready ladies and gentlemen? It’s time for our first sew-along!!
You may have heard on our Modkid Facebook Fan page or within our Facebook group that Patty is working toward having all her existing paper patterns in PDF form. To celebrate the first paper to PDF pattern release, we’re hosting a sew-along!

SST-sew-along-graphic

The Sun & Surf Tote is perfect for a trip to the beach, swim lessons, or a day at the park. It’s big enough to hold a couple of towels and has plenty of inside and outside pockets. Best of all, it is the perfect size to use as a diaper bag or a market tote, while being stylish and unique!

The sew-along with be July 28 – August 1. So put it on your calendar now! Between now and then we’ll be posting what you’ll need, where you can buy supply kits, the schedule, and prizes. During the sew-along we’ll tackle a few steps a day to take you through the pattern, so by the weekend you’ll be set to hit the pool, beach, or market with your new tote!!

I’ll be back to tell you more, but you’ll want to post your tote in our Sun & Surf Flickr Group by Monday, August 4th to be entered to win the final prize pack. Don’t have a Flickr account, no problem. Post totes to Facebook and Instagram using the tag #sunandsurfsewalong so we can all find you. We’d love to see progress photos and totes in our Facebook Fan Group as well!

More good news! For the duration of the sew-along, Patty is offering the Sun & Surf Tote pattern at $5.95 (that's $2 off the regular price). So, pick up your PDF pattern or paper pattern, and get ready to sew! Two lucky winners will receive a free Sun and Surf Tote PDF pattern to get the party started. Enter below, but be quick, we'll announce the winners Thursday, so you'll know if you need to purchase the pattern.

LEXI inspiration on SEW FAB

One of the wonderful things about being part of the SEW FAB group has been getting to "meet" so many fabulous designers! Even though we have never met face to face and most of us live nowhere near each other, we do have one thing in common... SEWING! And with that comes a love for patterns, fabric and photography.

In case you don't know about SEW FAB, click HERE to learn more.
The SEW FAB bundle can be purchased HERE.

Our LEXI DRESS AND PEPLUM TOP pattern is our contribution to the SEW FAB bundle. Today I am sharing some LEXI Dresses made by my fellow SEW FAB designers.

First off we have Karly Nelson, of Paisley Roots, who actually made her own reverse appliqué technique on the front of this LEXI dress as part of Project Run and Play. WOW, I am in love with this version of Lexi! The pattern on the front is absolutely FABULOUS!!

Next we have designer Sara Beth Upshaw, of Molly Blossom, sharing her wonderful up-cycled Monsters Inc Lexi dress. How cute is she? I think she likes her new dress.... and so do I!

And last, but certainly not least, Jeanine Thomlinson of Scientific Seamstress added a dinosaur free-stitched embroidery design to the front of this Lexi dress. How awesome is that?! She said "My girl loooooves wearing it! She's worn it twice now this week. haha"

This pattern and 19 others are included in the SEW FAB bundle! You will receive 20 PDF patterns for $29.99 ... that's less than $1.50 per pattern! A better deal than that you will not find.
