Tuesday, November 10, 2015

It has been a while since we've posted a Modkid Styled, so I thought the new Modkid Charlotte would be the perfect pattern to feature. Marsala, the color of the year according to Pantone, pairs so well with Patty's Fancy Chevron in gray. I would love to see this outfit come to life!!

Modkid Styled - Hailey Cover Up

Thursday, June 04, 2015

Now that we have a couple Tips & Tricks under our belt with the Modkid Hailey, how about a style idea?!? This easy style is perfect for a cover-up! You just have to decide if dress length or tunic length is more your style! I've used a lightweight French Terry for a little absorbency. Just make sure your fabric is lightweight to get the maximum gathering effect of the shirring. The Hailey as a cover up doesn't need to be limited to little girls. Make one for yourself or your tween too!

Modkid Styled - Travel Art Folio

Thursday, December 11, 2014

Since I've already sewn a Travel Art Folio for my creative girl, I thought it would be fun to style a Folio for a boy complete with all the fillers. The pocket could house the fun stencils and scissors. The pencil toppers might be fun for creative play that doesn't involve drawing at all!

Modkid Styled - London Holiday

Monday, November 24, 2014

Styling the London Dress for a holiday look was just too much fun! Patty had the idea of incorporating embroidery designs on the fold over flaps of the collar and possibly the pockets. You may want to omit some of the upper buttons in this case, but it's a great way to add a pretty detail. Yet again, I diverged from the suggested fabrics for a dressier style by using a cotton/silk blend.

  1. Blue Radiance Cotton
  2. White Radiance Cotton
  3. Snowflake Embroidery
  4. Purse
  5. Shoes
  6. Tights

As you prepare for our London Dress Sew-Along, I have a little holiday inspiration for you. Sewing the London in corduroy gives a slightly more casual Christmas look. Thursday, November 06, 2014

What better way to kick off a new pattern release than with a Modkid Styled!?! Since Patty's girls dubbed the pattern "London" because of it's clean lines and sophisticated style, I found the perfect hat to keep with the preppy tone. Hope you like this as much as I do!
